Our story · 1990–2003

Thirteen years on Daniel Webster Highway.

From June 1990 to August 2003, the Indian Village Restaurant was a fixture of South Nashua — the only authentic Indian kitchen in the area, and for many people their first taste of it. The dining room is closed now, but the recipes, the spices and the people who cooked them carry straight into your catered event.

The years

A short history

  1. June 1990

    The doors open

    Indian Village opens in Sun Plaza — then Lamplighter Square — at 295 Daniel Webster Highway in South Nashua, directly across from the Pheasant Lane Mall. From day one it is the only restaurant serving authentic North Indian cuisine in the greater Nashua area.

  2. The 1990s

    A room people remembered

    Hand-painted murals of village life in Northwest India, golden oak millwork, crystal chandeliers and mirrored ceiling insets. A working clay tandoor sent the aroma of spices across the dining room, and the midday buffet became a Nashua institution.

  3. 1999

    Critics take notice

    Local reviewers single out the kitchen for excellent quality food in a friendly atmosphere — well worth the visit even for the less adventurous diner.

  4. August 2003

    The dining room closes

    After thirteen years, the restaurant on Daniel Webster Highway serves its last dinner. The recipes and the people behind them don't retire — they move to catering, where the same kitchen now travels to your event.

One thing to be clear about

We're not reopening the restaurant.

To answer the question we hear most: no, we are not looking to return to the restaurant business. The dining room on Daniel Webster Highway is closed for good. What continues is the catering — the same recipes, the same hands, brought to your event instead of ours.
